Darryl Cross is Vice President of Client Development, LexisNexis. With around 15 years of experience in strategic marketing, CXO level sales tactics, business action plans and the use of technology to increase revenue, Darryl has been proven to be a pioneer that delivers results.
Both an MBA and NASM-CPT, he is also certified personal trainer of the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Darryl served as the Chief Marketing Officer of Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the 130-attorney law firm based in Cleveland, OH. During his tenure, he was awarded the top national award in the legal industry, the 2003 Elite Excellence in Marketing Award, for “Creating a Sales Culture at a Law Firm” and was a finalist for the national Marketing Director of the Year.
Darryl was the founding Publisher and Director of Sales for DFW TechBiz (American City Business Journals), a technology business news organization covering the high technology industry in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In this capacity, he managed the largest news organization dedicated to covering technology business in Texas.
He has worked as an "internal entrepreneur" in many capacities. He served as the original Marketing Director for a 60,000 square foot hospital based wellness and rehabilitation facility. He was also the first Director of Corporate Accounts for Occupational Medicine at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA selling to Fortune 500 accounts such as Merck, DuPont, and R.R. Donnelly. Darryl served as the Marketing Director for David, Hagner, Kuney & Davison, a high profile, “boutique” law firm in Washington, D.C.
Darryl served on the Editorial Committee for the Legal Marketing Association and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Mid-Atlantic Legal Marketing Association. His regular column on Law Firm Sales was featured monthly in the American Bar Association’s law practice management section. He has also held positions on the executive committee of the MIT Enterprise Forum, the Dallas Internet Society, the North Texas Global Telecommunications Society and the Technology Business Council in Richardson, TX.
